América Latina y el Caribe reciben 57 de los 98 millones de dólares en subvenciones por país aprobadas por la Junta Directiva del Fondo Mundial correspondientes al periodo de asignación 2017–2019

En este artículo, informamos sobre los comentarios del Comité de Aprobación de Subvenciones (CAS) respecto a cuatro países de la región de América Latina y el Caribe (LAC): Belice, El Salvador, Panamí y Paraguay.

El Fondo Mundial anuncia su objetivo de 14.000 millones de dólares para intensificar la lucha contra el sida, la tuberculosis y la malaria antes de la Conferencia de Lyon de octubre de 2019

Al anunciar su objetivo de recaudación de fondos para el próximo ciclo de tres años, el Fondo Mundial ha hecho énfasis en que recaudar un mínimo de 14.000 millones de dólares de los Estados Unidos permitiría salvar 16 millones de vidas, reducir a la mitad la tasa de mortalidad por VIH, tuberculosis y malaria, ademís de reforzar los sistemas de salud para 2023.

El Informe mundial sobre el paludismo 2018 presenta el estado actual del progreso global en la lucha contra el paludismo hasta el final de 2017. Hace un seguimiento del progreso de las inversiones en los programas y de las investigaciones sobre el paludismo; su prevención; diagnóstico y tratamiento; vigilancia; tendencias en la carga de la enfermedad; eliminación del paludismo y desafíos para encaminar la respuesta contra la malaria.

It calls for immediate action to put the world on course to reach critical 2020 targets.

HIV/AIDS and Human Rights in the Caribbean: Situational Analysis

The report provides a consolidated update on the status, developments, gaps and opportunities in policies, legislation, and practices in relation to HIV-related stigma and discrimination and the broader issues of human rights affecting key population groups in the Caribbean. The report also provides recommendations under the following four key areas: 1) Access to essential services, 2) Equality of PLHIV in public and private life, 3) Key Populations, and 4) Access to Justice.

The World malaria report 2018 draws on data from 90 countries and areas with ongoing malaria transmission. The information is supplemented by data from national household surveys and databases held by other organizations.

Situational analysis of Latin American and Caribbean countries in accordance with the policies of the Global Fund

This documents series is intended to help communities and other key actors in the regional response to increase their understanding of the processes that the Global Fund is implementing through its financing mechanisms. For this reason, it is particularly important to understand the technical assistance needs of civil society organizations in the context of the sustainability, transition and co-financing policy of the Global Fund, as well as the main elements of the process in 18 countries of the region related to implementation of this policy.
